Markets for rolled products in Europe
Shipments of foilstock make up the largest end-use market for rolled products, 22%, in Western Europe. In 2006, rigid packaging accounted for 19% of all flat rolled products shipments, the share of stockists increased to 18%, while the transport market was close to 14%.
Markets for extruded products in Europe
The building and construction sector is by far the largest end-use market for extruded products, with about 42% of all shipments flowing directly in to this sector. Moreover, certainly half of all shipments to stockists also end up in this sector. The transport sector makes up 17% of all extrusions shipments, and engineering 16%.

Based on data from the largest European markets of Germany, Frnace, Italy and the UK, some 73% of cast alloys go into the transport sector. The share going into engineering is 12%, and into building 8%.
