<title>EAA goes to the European Parliament to advocate for greener cars in Europe</title>
<description><![CDATA[ <p> </p><p align="justify"><strong>On June 5th in the European Parliament, the European Aluminium Association advocated more ambitious and more objective targets for the reduction of CO2 emissions from passenger cars.</strong> Emission targets based on the mass of vehicles are not likely to ensure that the overall reduction goal of an average 130g/km of CO2 will be met. Nor will the legislative measure proposed by the European Commission be able to ensure that the 140g/km target set for 2008 is met any earlier than 2015, if met at all.</p>]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[ <div align="justify">The Spanish Aluminium Recycling Association <b>ARPAL</b> made a new start in April with the newly appointed president Mr Clemente González Soler. Clemente González is president of Grupo Alibérico, a leading European aluminium group of companies active on a wide range of aluminium end-use markets including packaging. Clemente González has a long experience in the aluminium industry for which he has been working for almost 40 years in different leading positions. He is vice-president of the European Aluminium Foil Association EAFA and president of the Container Group of EAFA.</div>]]></description>
