21/02/2005 - 21/02/2005 - European aluminium industry ready to contribute to a more competitive Europe

the European Aluminium Association (EAA) met with Luxembourg's Presidency to the EU and other key representatives of the European Institutions.
With this high-level forum, the aluminium industry is clearly showing its willingness to play an active part in reviewing the Lisbon process and has thus highlighted the challenges for its operations in Europe. In particular, the trends in the rise of energy prices and access to some raw materials make it difficult for European industry to compete with other regions. This event marked an important milestone in the ongoing Aluminium for Future Generations programme - the unwavering pledge of the European aluminium industry to progress through dialogue for sustainable progress.
