2. Aluminium Design

Aluminium Design is treated from two viewpoints: Product Development (2.1) and Structural Design (2.2 to 2.7).

Lectures on Product Developments are conceived as an introductory course and comprise a number of case studies on various current aluminium applications. The issue of a product's life cycle under environmental aspects is applied to a product example and is treated as a proposed business concept.

Structural Design is an extensive course on a well advanced level addressing engineers responsible for design and calculation of stability and reliability of load carrying structures. This part is completely updated and expanded by the results of the TAS project and is based on the Eurocode 9 Directive.
